About the campsite
Ballen Strandcamping lies on a beautiful nature ground on the eastern side of Samsoe. Right by the sea and a lovely sandy beach. You will find cozy places for tents and caravans and car-free areas for guests visiting by bike.
We do not have fixed spaces, so you are invited to walk around and find your own preferred place among large shady trees or sunny spots.
Good conditions for all kinds of water sports. Dogs are allowed if kept on a leash.
In 2014 we opened the new sanitary facilities. We now have modern and well appointed toilets, showers, nursery and family rooms. The new spacious kitchen has the most fantastic sea view. Even the laundry room has a sea view.
Booking
As we do not have fixed spaces available, it is NOT possible to book a space in advance for your own caravan or tent. The only time we may have fully booked, is a couple of days in week 29, during our "Samsoe Festival". If that happens there will always be spaces available at Samsoes other campsites. All other times we will always have room for you.
It is a good idea to book the ferry in due time if you plan to visit us during the school holiday (July - August).

Transportation TO Samsoe
It is easy to get to Samsoe. We have two ferries. One from Hou in Jutland and the other from Kalundborg on Sealand.
It is a good idea to book the ferry in due time if you plan to visit us during the school holiday or during week-ends.
Transportation ON Samsoe
BUS
Samsoe has one bus route which serves the whole island. In addition to the bus a Telebus is also in service. See how it works here.
TAXI
Samsoe has ordinary taxis. Upon arrival they usually wait at the harbour, but you can also book in advance.
BIKE HIRE
It is possible to hire a bike at the camping site without booking. If you want bikes ready at the harbour you must contact the bike companies before arrival.
